As a twenty-year member of the WGAw (Writers Guild of America, West (the Hollywood trade guild for authors of movie and television scripts), I've had my work produced on stage, screen and television. I've sold scripts to Universal Pictures, Fox Television, USA Network, HBO and the David Geffen Company.
My comic historical novel for kids, "Hubert Invents the Wheel," (co-written with my wife, Claire), was published in October, 2005 by Walker/Bloomsbury. A follow-up, "Marvin Invents Music," will be published in the fall of 2010, and my first non-fiction effort, "The Young Person's Guide to Grown-Ups" (also from Walker) is due out in 2011.
I've also frequently worked as a writer, director, and consultant in the public health field, often in conjunction with HealthMedia in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Projects include a kiosk-based informational program available throughout Michigan; a children's CD-ROM about skin cancer prevention; and numerous online and print programs promoting smoking cessation, diet modification, and so on. I've written and/or directed videos on doctor/patient relationships, nutrition, cholesterol, insomnia, and most recently, physical activity.
I live in Washington, DC with my wife and writing partner, Claire.
